§ 01

THE BRIEF

The body of this 1936 Chevrolet Master Deluxe four-door sedan arrived at Hammer Fab on September 18, 2026, from a client in Corpus Christi, Texas. This is a full build in our Modern Mobster style. The plan is a low-slung stance on a Roadster Shop chassis with air ride, keeping the period character of wide whitewall tires and artillery wheels much like the car originally wore. The rendering shows the intended direction; the build is just getting started.

PREP MILESTONE

Stripped to bare metal

The sand blaster came out to strip the body. Body panels are next. Then we will immediately spray the interior and various parts with epoxy primer while the exterior will remain in bare metal while we do all of the metal repairs and modifications. The original chassis is not getting prepped for anything — it will be leaving and get swapped out for a new Roadster Shop chassis.

PREP MILESTONE

Off the chassis and onto the rotisserie

The body has been removed from the original chassis and positioned on our rotisserie for sand blasting prep. Due to the fragile nature of this body — the original inner structure is wooden — we braced it thoroughly to prevent unnecessary damage while rotating the car body in mid air.

ARRIVAL MILESTONE

The body arrives

The 1936 Chevrolet Master Deluxe four-door sedan body arrived from our Corpus Christi, Texas, client. This full Modern Mobster build is planned around a Roadster Shop chassis, air ride, wide whites, and artillery wheels. The rendering captures where we're headed; work on the build is ahead of us.

The plan pairs the Master Deluxe's four-door silhouette with a low-slung Roadster Shop chassis and air ride. Wide whites and artillery wheels keep the period look at the heart of the build.
