Street Connection A-Body Mopar Suspension & Chassis System
Complete Performance Suspension System for A-Body Mopars
Transform the stance, handling, steering, and overall driving experience of your A-Body Mopar with the Street Connection Suspension & Chassis System by Hammer Fab.
Street Connection was developed to replace outdated factory suspension and steering components with a modern, integrated system—without sacrificing street manners, serviceability, or the character of the car.
Rather than combining unrelated aftermarket parts, we've engineered the front suspension, steering, chassis reinforcement, rear suspension, and available brake and driveline components to work together as a complete package.
What This Package Delivers
- Modern rack-and-pinion steering
- Adjustable coilover suspension
- Improved suspension geometry and alignment capability
- Excellent street ride quality
- Improved handling and cornering stability
- Modern brake and drivetrain options
- Increased chassis rigidity
- Proper wheel and tire fitment
- Aggressive stance without sacrificing real-world drivability
- Components engineered to function together as a complete system
This is an engineered suspension and chassis system—not simply a collection of parts.
What This System Does
A quick summary of the four areas this system addresses. Full detail for each is covered in the sections below.
Front Suspension
Replaces the factory K-member, torsion bars, and steering gearbox with a Hammer Fab Street Connection K-member (bolt-in or weld-in), Detroit Speed rack-and-pinion steering, RideTech adjustable coilovers, Mustang-style upper and lower control arms with rubber bushings, Wilwood Pro dropped spindles, and Hammer Fab billet aluminum dropped steering arms.
Rear Suspension
A triangulated four-link with RideTech R-Joints and adjustable rear coilovers, a heavy-duty Ford 9" housing with Torino-style ends and GearFX 31-spline axles, fixture-built TIG-welded rear-end brackets, and 10-gauge weld-in crossmembers. Optional splined rear sway bar, Baer SS4 rear brakes, and upgraded third-member and axle configurations.
Chassis
Weld-in 10-gauge laser-cut L-channel mid-frame stiffeners, contoured from 3D scans of the factory floor, tie the front and rear structures together. They weld to the factory floor pan and do not require cutting the floor, and are especially recommended above roughly 350 horsepower. Rear frame stiffening plates and weld-in crossmembers add further rigidity.
Engine Compatibility
- Big Block Mopar — B/RB 361, 383, 400, 413, 426, 440
- LA Small Block Mopar — 273, 318, 340
- Gen III Hemi — Hellcat applications require editing sheet metal
- Custom engine combinations — the bare-steel K-member allows experienced builders to fabricate their own engine mounts
Rear-sump oil-pan requirements vary by engine; see Engine Fitment below. If your engine combination is not listed as a supported configuration, contact Hammer Fab before ordering.

Chassis Reinforcement
Street Connection incorporates chassis reinforcement designed to make the unibody structure work more effectively with the upgraded suspension.
Mid-Frame Stiffeners
Our weld-in mid-frame stiffeners—or frame connectors—tie the front and rear chassis structures together.
They are especially recommended for vehicles producing more than approximately 350 horsepower.
Unlike conventional tubular frame connectors, our stiffeners are manufactured from 10-gauge laser-cut steel and designed from 3D scans of the factory floor.
Why We Use an L-Channel Design
- Rigidity: Heavy 10-gauge steel adds substantial structural support.
- Accurate fitment: Contoured using 3D scan data to follow the factory floor.
- Reduced welding distortion: Welding along a single primary edge helps reduce floor-pan warpage.
- Moisture management: The open L-channel design avoids creating enclosed moisture traps.
- Corrosion protection: All sides of the material remain accessible for proper coating and paint.
Installation requires welding to the factory floor pan but does not require cutting the floor.
